Pope Leo XIV Cufflinks

Robert Francis Prevost, born 14 September 1955 in Chicago, Illinois, is an American-born Catholic prelate who took Peruvian nationality and was elected pope on 8 May 2025, taking the name Leo XIV. As Bishop of Rome, he is the 267th pope of the Catholic Church and head of state of Vatican City — the first pontiff born in the United States, and only the second pope from the Order of Saint Augustine, after Eugene IV in the 15th century.

A missionary in Peru between 1985 and 1998, he later held positions at his order's headquarters in Rome from 2001 to 2013, before being appointed Bishop of the Peruvian diocese of Chiclayo. Having taken Peruvian citizenship in 2015, he became the first Peruvian pope. On 30 January 2023 he was chosen to head the Dicastery for Bishops, taking office that April, and was created a cardinal by Pope Francis later that year — the pope he would go on to succeed.
